Brush Fire alarm

1-4-2010 @ 17:44 Susquehanna Fire Department is
dispatched to State Street Oakland Borough for a brush fire.  
Chief units on scene report that the foundation of a house
currently being torn down is on fire as well as the debris
around the structure.  Chief 12 requests Susquehanna
Engine 2 to respond - following it for safety was
Susquehanna A-2.  Crews worked quickly to knock down the
flames.  All units back into service a little less than one hour
later.
TRAFFIC CONTROL
1-8-10 @     Susquehanna Fire Police dispatched to assist PSP in traffic control - Brushville Road, Oakland Twp. for a two car
motor vehicle accident with no injuries, vehicles blocking 1 lane of traffic.  Susquehanna RT 1  responded.


POSSIBLE FIRE
1-6-10 @ 18:01 Susquehanna Fire and Ambulance personnel dispatched to a residence on Jackson Ave, Susquehanna Borough.  
Dispatch states that the resident is reporting a smell of hot wires.  Crews arrive on scene and search the residence, find that it's
coming from an overloaded outlet.  Resident was advised of the problem and everything was taken care of.  No fire or damage to
the residence.


REKINDLE
1-5- 10 @ 10:59 Susquehanna Fire is dispatched for a Rekindle of the debris that was burning on State Street in Oakland
Borough.  Susquehanna 13 reported on scene asked county to hold all apparatus and personnel at the station.  Susquehanna 13
addressed the issue and cleared scene within moments.
MVA with Entrapment

1-18-10 @ 12:23 - Susquehanna Fire & Ambulance were
dispatched to a single car roll over on State Route 92,
Oakland Twp just south of the borough on the bridge.  
Units arrived on scene to find a female patient trapped in
the vehicle.  Crews worked diligently to remove the
patient from the wreckage. Patient was removed in
stable condition.   The patient was taken by Susquehanna
Ambulance assisted by  Barnes Kasson ALS to Wilson
Hospital in New York.   Vehicle was removed from the
scene by French's Auto.
A Day for Fire Assists

1-21-10 @ 15:09 Susquehanna Fire Department was dispatched to respond an engine to stand by at Great Bend Fire Hall while
they operated on a fully involved trailer fire up in Windsor District 4 on Blatchly Road.  Susquehanna Engine 1 responded light
crew.

1-21-10 @ 22: 39 Susquehanna Fire was hit for a full response for a structure in Windsor's fire district - State Route 79.  Engine
1 and 2 quickly responded.  While crews were still assembling for the other apparatus, Broome County put Susquehanna on
stand by for those pieces and moments later canceled pieces on the road.  
Tree on Wires

1-25-10 @ 7:21 - Susquehanna Fire Department dispatched for a tree down on wires - smoking.  Susquehanna 12 was the first on
scene reporting that the tree was not on fire and there wasn't anything really the fire department could do.  He canceled all
other Susquehanna units and gave Penelec information to county for the situation before clearing the scene.
Electrical Fire

1-26-10 @ 11:59 - SFD dispatched to assist Great Bend Hose in a possible structure fire, Tarzan Road.  Great Bend and Hallstead
Units first arriving reporting that it was a fire in the electrical panel.  Susquehanna Units responding were canceled by Great
Bend command.
Structure Fire - building a loss
1-27-10 @ 3:10 - Susquehanna Fire and EMS dispatched to a
Structure Fire on Pleasant Ave in Susquehanna Borough.  
The building was quickly evacuated by first units arriving on
scene a total of 14 people living in the building.  Susquehanna
units started a defensive attack while waiting for incoming
New Milford and Hallstead units.  Command then requested
Thompson for additional manpower.  Great Bend's rescue was
also called to the scene.  Residents of the building were treated
for smoke inhalation and breathing problems but no one was
injured in the fire.  The American Red Cross - Montrose
Chapter is aiding two of the families from this fire.  
Landing Zone for Gutherie
1-27-10 @ 22:05 - Susquehanna Fire and EMS dispatched to assist Gutherie Air in a Landing Zone at the helo pad at
Susquehanna Schools for incoming Gutherie Helicopter 25 minute ETA.  
Structure Fire in Lanesboro
1-29-10 @ 15:28 - Susquehanna Fire and EMS dispatched for a residential structure fire on Belmont Street, Lanesboro
Borough.  Susquehanna 11 was the first unit arriving on scene requesting county to hit their box alarm.  Assisting SFD was
Great Bend Fire, Hallstead Fire, Thompson Hose, and Great Bend Hallstead Ambulance.  Fire was quickly knocked down
keeping damage contained to the basement and partial first floor.  
Fully Involved Vehicle Fire
1-30-10 @  - Susquehanna Fire was dispatched to a
vehicle fire, Prospect Street Oakland borough.  Upon
arrival on scene crews found a fully involved Plymouth
Neon parked on the side of Prospect Street just off of
Westfall Ave.  Engine 1's crew worked quickly to
extinguish the fire while crews off of the Rescue Truck
secured the scene and provided tool assistance to the
engine crew.  SFD Ambulance 2 & Lanesboro Police were
also on scene.   
Structure Fire?
2-13-10 @ 19:50 - Susquehanna Fire responding to a dispatch for a possible trailer fire on the Brushville Road, Oakland Twp.  
Dispatch stated that the fire looks as if it's been burning for awhile and the house is believed to be a seasonal residence.  
Susquehanna 12 was the first to arrive on scene, reporting that it's not a trailer fire but rubbish.  He requested the engine to
respond.  Rubbish fire was extinguished.  

Activated Fire Alarm
2-10-10 @ 18:08 - Susquehanna Fire personnel were dispatched to respond to Small Engine Repair - State Route 171 Oakland
Twp for a reported activated fire alarm.  Personnel got on scene to find they could not gain access to the facility.  The building
was checked as well as it could be from the outside and with nothing showing, all units called available.

1 Car MVA in the Borough
2-9-10 @ 20:10 - Susquehanna Fire and Ambulance dispatched to Franklin Ave, Susquehanna Borough for a 1 car motor vehicle
accident.  The vehicle slid into the guard rails due to poor road conditions.  Patient had minor injuries, was transported to Barnes
Kasson Hospital by Susquehanna Ambulance for evaluation.  vehicle was removed from the scene by French's Auto.  

EMS ASSIST
2-8-10 @ 2:15 - Susquehanna Fire personnel dispatched to assist Susquehanna EMS on a medical emergency Riverside Drive,
Oakland Twp.

Assist on head on collision
2-3-10 @ 18:27 - Susquehanna Rescue 1 and Susquehanna Ambulance requested by Great Bend Fire to respond to State Route
171 in the village of Red Rock for a 2 car motor vehicle accident, reported head on collision with confinement.  Susquehanna EMS
transported one of the patients to Wilson Hospital with Superior ALS.  

Unfound MVA
2-3-10 @ 15:53 - Susquehanna Fire and EMS respond to dispatch for a possible motor vehicle accident on State Route 92 toward
NY state line.  Dispatch stated that the call came in from Onstar and there wasn't much information available.  Units searched
from Oakland Borough to the state line and found nothing.  All units were called clear by command.

Assist on Possible Structure Fire
2-2-10 @ 14:00 - Susquehanna Fire requested to assist Windsor Fire Department, possible structure fire at a residence on State
Line Road.  

Forced Entry
2-1-10 @ 21:25 - Susquehanna Fire and EMS dispatched to assist Susquehanna PD / Pennsylvania State Police on a Welfare
Check, Westfall Ave Oakland Borough.  Upon arrival Susquehanna Fire was no longer needed as crews on scene had already
gained entry.  Patient was assessed by Susquehanna EMS and transported to Barnes Kasson Hospital for further evaluation.

LZ For Critical Patient
2-1-10 @ 07:07 - Susquehanna Fire dispatched to assist Susquehanna EMS - landing zone needed for a critical patient.  SFD
responded an Engine and set up landing zone at Susquehanna Schools for incoming Lifeflight 3.
